Though Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy are being praised for their decision to smoke the peace pipe after their recent altercation at the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), some music stakeholders still have misgivings about their action.
Social media was Thursday night awash with pictures of Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale together for the first time since their altercation on stage.
Reports indicated that the two dancehall artistes were made to smoke the peace pipe by one Kofi Amoa-Abban.
“IF it be Possible As Far It Depends On You, Live Peaceably With All Men.. Romans 12:18. The Wise Shall Inherit Glory..
But Shame Shall Be The Promotion Of Fools.. Proverbs 3:35 #GhanaFirst #PeaceAndUnity,” Stonebwoy said when he shared his photograph with Shatta Wale on Thursday.
“Unity is strength, Love is the key to many doors, Brotherhood is Loyalty, Peace is Freedom .. My brother and I got a great vision for Ghana music and we taking it to the world (love emoji) .. @stonebwoyb,” Shatta Wale also said on his social media platforms.
The reconciliation photographs also captured others, including Stonebwoy’s manager Black Cedi, Bulldog and broadcast journalist Nana Aba Anamoah.
The peace broker, Mr. Kofi Amoa-Abban, has been described as a Ghanaian oil and gas entrepreneur and philanthropist. He is the founder and CEO of Rigworld Group, an oil service firm with operations across West Africa.
He reportedly impressed upon the two dancehall acts to give peace a chance.
However, some music stakeholders and showbiz followers doubt the peace will last. One of such people is Pop Skinny, a former Shatta Wale’s right-hand man.
“If you are smart like me, you will know that this peace will not last. Hypocrisy Nkuaa Ghana. Posing for the camera. Peace,” he reportedly said.
But music video director and CEO of Solid Multimedia, Ezekiel Tetteh, also shared his opinion on Facebook, pointing out that “some people will always complain about everything (laugh emoji) They fight you complain. Now they are trying to make peace and you are still complaining, so what at all do you want? Oh my Ghana people. Chale let’s help promote peace and unity.”
