Savannah International Academy (SIA) has partnered with Duduhgu Restaurant to provide nourishing meals to children in Choggu, a local community in Tamale on World Food Day, October 16, 2023.
SIA, known for its academic excellence and adherence to the Cambridge Curriculum and IGCSE standards, encourages student participation in community initiatives. Students were given at-home tasks to complete, earning funds for donation towards this event. These contributions were used to sponsor this important initiative, in line with the school’s ethos of instilling compassion and civic responsibility.

Farouk Illiasu, Principal of SIA, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We believe in nurturing academic prowess and social responsibility. Partnering with Duduhgu Restaurant for this event allows us to teach our students the importance of giving back.”
Duduhgu Restaurant, known for its genuine flavours and dedication to promoting authentic Ghanaian cuisine, will prepare and serve nutritious meals to the children, aligning with the global theme of “Safe and nutritious food for all.”
SIA students will actively participate in the cooking and sharing of these meals, enhancing their understanding of community engagement and cultural appreciation, and developing essential life skills.
