The Managing Director of Tema Development Company (TDC) Ghana Limited, Courage Nunekpeku, has announced a wide-ranging transformation agenda aimed at repositioning the state-owned housing developer as a more efficient, technology-driven institution focused on providing affordable and sustainable housing for Ghanaians.
Speaking at TDC’s fifth Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Tema, Mr. Nunekpeku said the company is redefining its operations after more than 70 years of involvement in the nation’s housing sector.
The meeting reviewed TDC’s performance for the 2024 financial year and assessed progress made between 2020 and 2024.
He explained that the transformation strategy includes the expansion of TDC’s service portfolio to enhance customer experience and improve operational efficiency.
Among the new initiatives are the introduction of premium services, courier services, a 24-hour call centre and a business centre, all designed to modernise service delivery and better respond to evolving customer needs.
“TDC is transforming into a more efficient, tech-driven institution focused on delivering affordable, sustainable housing for Ghanaians,” Mr Nunekpeku said.
He noted that innovation and impactful developments are central to the company’s long-term strategy, with the expansion of affordable housing identified as a key priority.
According to him, TDC has secured the necessary clearances from the Municipal Finance Department and the Public Procurement Authority for its affordable housing project.
Mr. Nunekpeku disclosed that the project has reached the award stage, paving the way for full implementation in the coming months.
He expressed confidence that the new initiatives will significantly strengthen TDC’s contribution to the country’s housing agenda while improving accessibility, efficiency and overall service delivery for customers.
