Ebenezer Botwe with his award
The Telecel 2Moorch Money Promo is spreading hope and changing lives nationwide since its launch two months ago, with thousands of customers winning in the daily and weekly draws of the telco’s cash rewards campaign.
One such winner is Ebenezer Botwe, a veteran tiler with 30 years of experience. The father of six recalled activating the promo in late June after watching a TV commercial. Six weeks later, while working on a job in Darkuman, he received the life-changing call – he had won GH¢20,000.
“At first, I thought it could be a scam,” he admitted. But two days later, during a prize presentation at Dome Market, Ebenezer received the money in his Telecel Cash account.
He said the funds would expand his tiling business so he can take on bigger contracts and employ others.
Over the past nine weeks, 60 winners across the country – from Kasoa to Savelugu, Jirapa to Hohoe, and Koforidua to Berekum – have each received GH¢20,000, reflecting the promo’s nationwide reach.
For Sajidatu Wumbrili, a first-year Public Health student in Tamale, said the surprise came during a research programme in Bongasi.
“They said I had won GH¢20,000, but I thought it was a prank,” she laughed. The turning point came when the Telecel team drove to her location and transported her to Tamale for her prize.
Calling the win “a blessing,” Sajidatu said she handed most of the money to her parents to support their small trade and her education, keeping a portion for her personal upkeep. “They’ve always believed in me. Now, I get to give back in my own way,” she said.
Telecel Ghana said these customer stories reflect the true purpose of the campaign.
“The 2Moorch Money campaign is creating financial freedom, fueling dreams, and supporting people with real ambitions to achieve them,” said Aneth Muga, Director of Consumer Business.
“What matters most is seeing lives improve with the cash rewards, and we encourage more people to join because it can change their lives for the better,” Aneth stated.
The 2Moorch Money Promo is Telecel’s biggest rewards campaign yet. Under the oversight of the National Lottery Authority through its Caritas platform, it is rewarding 120 customers with GH¢100 daily, up to eight winners with GH¢20,000 weekly, and will climax with a grand prize of GH¢1.2 million in September.
