Empress Gifty
Gospel musician, Empress Gifty, is not holding back after her Artiste of the Year win at the recent Ghana Music Awards USA sparked a storm of backlash.
The singer, who stunned the industry by beating stars like Black Sherif and Stonebwoy, has fired a fiery warning to her critics saying she has taken the matter straight to God.
In a charged TikTok live session, Empress thundered: “My God will speak for me and people will confess in this country. Anyone who is part of the planning will confess. I have prayed a prayer and I know that prayer will work. I have presented my case to God.”
Her words come after social media erupted with claims that she didn’t deserve the win. While some fans defended her, insisting that “any nominee can win,” others scorned her victory.
But Empress Gifty insists her triumph is sealed. “Nothing will change the award I have won. Count 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 — you will mention my name. God has certified my name, and it can never be erased. It is history,” she declared.
The gospel star, visibly emotional, questioned those who were surprised by her reaction asking if they don’t think about the toll criticism takes on her family too.
“You don’t know what my children go through,” she added.
She ended on a defiant note saying, “I have been through hell. I have been through everything. That’s why I’ve handed this to God. He won’t shame me. Watch me, watch my God, as He is about to take off.”
