LANBELL Laboratory and Diagnostic Center, has officially launched operations to extend its top class services in Ghana.

The Center is operated by Arab International Laboratories – a healthcare institution headquartered in Egypt, with branches in eight other countries including the United Kingdom (UK), Poland, Greece, Ukraine and Nigeria.

Lanbell is noted for adhering to quality assurance protocols in accordance with ISO standards.

In her address at a launching ceremony in Accra on Saturday, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Center, Vida Bannah said Lanbell met all the structured requirements of regulators including the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) and Health Facilities Regulatory Agency (HeFRA).

The hallmarks of Lanbell, she indicated, were speed, precision and accuracy, and said they were committed to “leveraging the best of technologies, quality assurance systems and equipment to meet the demands of the public.”

“The vision of Lanbell Laboratory and Diagnostic Center is to be a recognised leader in quality medical laboratory services in Ghana and very soon other clinical areas such as chemical pathology, immunology, microbiology and hematology will be operationalised to serve the good people of Ghana,” she stressed.

Ms. Bannah said staff and management of Lanbell believe that “great customer experience begins with a warm attitude and all our staff are passionate about raising the customer experience and expectations.”

Executive Director of Lanbell Laboratory and Diagnostic Center, Kwadwo N. Poku bemoaned the limited scope of testing for the COVID-19 pandemic in Ghana.

According to him, the situation where only travellers were subjected to testing, and not Ghanaian residents was not the best, especially as it barely contributed to reducing the risk associated with the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He, therefore, urged government and all stakeholders to put in place measures to ensure that even persons residing in the country – from offices, institutions etc. – are subjected to what he described as “routine testing,” saying it would help in the country’s fight against the pandemic.

On plans for the future, Mr. Poku said “we have started now with just COVID-19 [testing]. By March we will hopefully go into molecular and other tests including even cervical cancer.”

The Lanbell Laboratory and Diagnostic Centre is a COVID-19 testing laboratory that aims at providing fast, reliable, and quality detection of SARS COV 2 using state-of-the art Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR).

Leveraging on newest technology and science, the Center delivers the quickest PCR detection of SARS-COV-2 within three (3) hours.
