John Mahama
The NDC and for that matter John Mahama needs power desperately. For which reason, they are on a kind of “trial and error” campaign strategy just in case it resonates with the public.
If that were not so, how come about ten months to the polls, a flagbearer would be begging the people not to make demands of him because of a so-called “broken economy.”
This shows clearly that the NDC and its flagbearer, John Mahama have no answers to our problems.
The NDC seeks power desperately in 2024 to take us on for only God knows how long honeymoon. Our God is not wicked to throw us again into the hands of a group of incompetent politicians who do not have what it takes to fix the economy.
So now that the reality is dawning on them, John Mahama, who prior to 2024 claimed to be the “saviour” and with the men to rescue Ghana, is shifting the goalposts. In 2023 and prior to that, John Mahama did not know the enormity of our problems to demand that he would be a better manager of the economy than President Akufo-Addo?
Former President John Mahama, we need further and better particulars about your call on Ghanaians to afford you a period for honeymoon if you win this year’s election so that you can then plan your rescue mission. What do you also mean by being measured in your promises having made tonnes of promises in your dream to return to Jubilee House or in the unlikely event you become President again you will rename the seat of government Flagstaff House?
We wonder why we are so disingenuous in our dealings with Ghanaians to the extent that we consider change of names priority.
The seat of government former President Kufuor built that the NDC described as a hen coop and late President Mills vowed never to use has become the most priceless landmark to “fight” over. Interesting times indeed for the struggle for power. Where is Faustina Nelson? In 1996, when the NPP was agitating for leadership of the country from late Flt. Lt J.J. Rawlings, the late J.H. Mensah would mount the podium and “incite” the crowd with “we want power,” which was well received and attracted a very sarcastic response from Madam Faustina Nelson that, “if the NPP wants power they should drink Guinness.” Madam Faustina Nelson, now that John Mahama is desperate for power would you recommend Guinness for him?
We are not particularly surprised about the intra-party violence involving some NDC leaders in the Northern Region.
The NDC, we believe, might have rehearsed how to unleash violence on its opponents this year, and now that they cannot find that prey they are locating them within their ranks. We haven’t seen anything yet. If we recall the call by the Deputy General Secretary, Mustapha Gbande on his party people to carry cutlasses to the polling stations in December, then the security forces have work to do.
The security agencies have maintained law and order in eight successful elections and they can do it again. But we want to know what the Ghana Police Service has done about the call by Mustapha Gbande on NDC supporters to arm themselves at the polling stations on December 7, 2024.
