President Nana Akufo-Addo with the ‘Ghana Beyond Aid’ book
The appearance of a wrong logo on the cover page of the strategy document for Ghana’s top-notch dream policy, ‘Ghana Beyond Aid,’ has stocked trouble, an embarrassing development attracting a swift apology.
Not even attributing the blunder to a Kenyan source spared the committee in charge of managing the President’s pet project harsh language from observers.
“The committee apologizes unreservedly to the President and the nation for this error and takes full responsibility for it,” Dr. Eric Yeboah, Secretary to the committee, wrote.
For those waiting to grab copies of the document, they would have to tarry a while as the committee has announced plans to replace the logo before mass circulation.
The Apology
“It has come to the attention of the Ghana Beyond Aid Committee that the commissioned photograph on the cover page of the “Ghana Beyond Aid Strategy Document, outdoored on May Day by the President of the Republic of Ghana emanates from Kenya.
“The committee apologizes unreservedly to the President and the nation for this error and takes full responsibility for it. We are ensuring that the cover page of the document is replaced before bulk copies are printed for widespread circulation. We regret this error, once again.
“The document will guide our nation towards an irreversible pathway of progress and prosperity, and the committee encourages all stakeholders to support the implementation of its contents.”
Designer’s Apology
The Ghana Beyond Aid Committee, DAILY GUIDE learnt, is demanding an apology from the Kenyan designer for the embarrassment it has caused.
The concern was addressed to a certain Richard Bansah, the Kenyan designer.
It queried the Kenyan for what it described as his lack of professionalism and demanded an apology to the President for the embarrassment caused.”
Kumbungu Member of Parliament (MP), Ras Mubarak, in a letter, described the blunder as embarrassing to the nation.
“You were commissioned to produce an original artwork that reflects the vision of the Ghana Beyond Aid and the highlights of the charter and strategy document. This artwork was used as the cover page of the document. You were required to produce an original piece of artwork, you, however, used a picture of Dawit Insurance Building in Nairobi, Kenya, and presented it to the committee as though it was your original artwork. This singular work of indiscretion and lack of professionalism has brought embarrassment to the President, the Ghana Beyond Aid Committee and its chairman.
“You are, therefore, required to provide an explanation and a formal apology to the Ghana Beyond Aid Committee. This is an urgent matter and you are required to treat it as such,” it said.
