All public institutions in Uganda have reportedly been ordered to replace all old portraits of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni with new ones.
The order follows Mr Museveni’s inauguration in May 2021 for his sixth term of office, local Ugandan media reports sighted by DGN Online revealed.
Reports say a circular from the office of the president directed the offices to place their order at the government printers.
According to reports, the new portrait has Mr Museveni wearing a white shirt and hat while the old one had him in a suit.
Uganda’s state-owned New Vision newspaper tweeted a photo of the two portraits.
Ministries, statutory bodies, and local government units have been instructed to pull down all the old portraits of President Yoweri Museveni in their respective offices and replace them with a new one. https://t.co/aRxG16YJ9z | #VisionUpdates | #NewVisionAt35
