The board and management of Upper Manya Kro Rural Bank Limited have presented 100 pieces of double student beds to Klo Agogo Senior High School (SHS) in the Eastern Region.
The school, which has a student population of over 700, lacks infrastructure.
The donation forms part of the bank’s corporate social responsibility in communities in which it operates.
Presenting the beds to the school, Board Chairman of the bank, James Otieku said, “Our outfit is always ready to support the school in our own small way as a financial institution.”
According to him, when his outfit received a request from the school to provide them with two hundreds bed, it readily obliged since education is the backbone of the future of our youth.
“Upper Manya Rural Bank was particularly worried about the sleeping place of the girl students, hence the support to the school. It was quite a tough challenge, but we thought the little help we can also offer to support education in this community.
He reiterated that “the bank is interested in affecting communities in which it operates and so looking at our finances, we thought we could afford 100 pieces of double beds that could take care of 200 students.
He therefore encouraged the school’s authorities to continuously work hard and pray for the bank to chalk more successes to enable it give more to the society.
Receiving the beds on behalf of the school, headmaster of the school, John Mensah Dzokoto, commended the Board and Management of Upper Manya Kro Rural Bank Limited for donating to the school.
He appealed to the bank to assist the school to construct additional dormitories to house the students.
