The inmates in a pose with officials of Upscale
Upscale Entertainment, entertainment outfit, on Sunday presented items worth thousands of Ghana cedis and undisclosed amount to Porter’s Village, an orphanage at Dodowa.
The items included bags of rice, sugar, cartons of mineral water, boxes of second hand clothing, boxes of detergents, boxes of sanitary towels, among many others.
The gesture falls in line with the company’s quest to reach out to the less-privileged and empower the youth in society.
The CEO of Upscale Entertainment, Roni Yeboah, pointed out that “I was touched by your efforts to roof your uncompleted structure, we will help you roof it, we are here to help you. Nobody should consider himself or herself unworthy. Keep on believing and hoping for the best in life.”
The hardworking proprietress of Porter’s Village, Jane Irina Adu, admitted the enormity of taking care of the little over 300 housemates regarding accommodation, feeding, education, clothing and others.
Madam Jane Irina commended Upscale Entertainment highly for the support.
“It’s not been easy, having done this for 18 years; but it is a call so we have depended on support like what you have just done and about to do to run the Village. As you can see, these are chop boxes for those who have qualified for senior high. This support will help a great deal, we are most grateful,” she added.
