The family of the late Eric Doku has honoured his memory by equipping the Vakpo Health Centre in the North Dayi District of the Volta Region.

The equipment donated includes Microscopes, Scientific Digital Laboratory Water Bath, Finlon Vacuum Blood Collection Tubes, EDTA Centrifuge Tubes, Glass Blood Tubes, Vacutainer Tubes, Laboratory Tubes and Disposable Nitrile Gloves.

Others are Microscope slides (Frosted one End both Sides), Pipette Tips, Laboratory Sterilised Micro Sampler among others.

The family through the Eric Doku Foundation made the donation to honour Eric, who was a Biomedical Scientist and hailed from Vakpo.

Leader of the delegation, Ben Amoah, explained that the Foundation was established to contribute to the relief of sickness, preservation of health and advancement of education and apprenticeship schemes for bright but needy children in Vakpo and surrounding communities in the North Dayi District and the United Kingdom.

North Dayi District Health Director, David Tekpor-Owusu, who received the items on behalf of the Health centre, expressed the Centre’s gratitude saying the donation will go a long way to improve the health care of the people in the community.

He therefore appealed to the facility to put them to good use and also take good care of the items donated to prolong their life span.

Francis Alanlinga who is in charge of the facility said although the Vakpo Health Centre is a primary health facility; it has inadequate staff to cater for the increasing number of clients that visit the daily.

He, further, appealed to the directorate, governmental and nongovernmental organisations to help them wall the facility to improve security.
