Victoria Michaels receiving her award
Renowned model, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and environmental advocate Victoria Michaels has added another accolade to her impressive list of achievements, winning in the Climate Change & Sustainability category at the prestigious 40 Under 40 Achievers Awards.
The ceremony, held on Friday at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra, brought together outstanding young leaders across industries to celebrate excellence and impact.
Dazzling in a Vlisco dress by Paon, Victoria took the stage with a powerful call to action. “Our waste must be segregated, recycled, upcycled, and disposed of properly,” she declared, urging greater responsibility in the face of mounting environmental challenges.
Her recognition at the awards reflects years of consistent work in the environmental space. From hands-on beach clean-ups in Ghana to participating in high-level climate dialogues with global leaders such as Arnold Schwarzenegger and Tony Blair at the Austrian World Summit, Victoria has proven herself a relentless voice for sustainability. For three years, she has also served as the EU Goodwill Ambassador in Ghana, working closely with Ambassador Diana Acconcia and the EU Delegation to advance climate advocacy.
In an Instagram post, she shared her gratitude, “Honoured to be named a winner for the second time at the 40 Under 40 Achievers Awards, this time in the Environmental & Climate Sustainability category. I accept this in my role as Chief Inspiration Officer of Fashion Connect Africa (FCA), EU Goodwill Ambassador, and lifelong Champion of the Environment.”
Victoria dedicated her award to communities across Ghana, including children in Chorkor and mothers in Laterbiokoshie, reminding them not to lose hope in the fight for a cleaner future. She also expressed deep appreciation to her family, mentors, and supporters, while paying tribute to her long-time friend and OAP Shirley Emma Tibila, who hosted the ceremony.
Her latest honour is more than personal recognition; it is a rallying cry for a greener Africa. Through her work with Fashion Connect Africa and the Victoria Michaels Foundation, she continues to inspire change, blending fashion, advocacy, and youth empowerment to shape a sustainable future.
