Charterhouse, event organiser of the annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), has rolled out plans for this year’s edition of the awards, with a call for entries of all works produced within the calendar year for consideration.
Spanning January 1 to December 31, 2018, all such works by artistes are expected to be presented to the GMA Academy.
Deadline for submission of entries is January 31, 2019.
Stakeholders who wish to be nominated are advised to download the nomination forms from the VGMA website – www.ghanamusicawards.com – or pick up forms from the Charterhouse office at North Industrial Area.
Completed hand-filled forms with copies of music works and promotional images should all be submitted to the offices of Charterhouse Productions Limited not later than January 31, 2019 when all nominations officially close.
In a statement issued in Accra, the organisers disclosed that this year marks the 20th edition of the event, which has celebrated hardworking players in the music industry over the years.
The full nomination list will be announced at the official launch of the event slated for March this year.
The official launch is expected to attract musicians, stakeholders in the music and copyright sectors, journalists and some selected members of the public.
The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, since its inception in 2000, has grown to become the biggest event on the Ghanaian entertainment calendar, designed among other things, to recognise and celebrate the hard work and dedication of the various players in Ghana’s music industry.
