Samuel Boadu
Hearts of Oak trainer, Samuel Boadu, is brimming with optimism to qualify his side to the next stage of the competition at the expense of WAC of Morocco this Saturday.
Despite labouring to post a 1-0 win over the North Africans on Sunday, he believes his charges are armed to the teeth to progress to the next stage of the CAF Champions League on condition of fair officiating in Casablanca this weekend.
He said after the game, “It is going to be game management when we go to Morocco. If we get good officiating Hearts of Oak can score over there.”
Coach Boadu added, “Everybody saw the performance of the referee and if we get good officiating in Morocco, Hearts of Oak will win.
“Hearts of Oak has good players to compete with WAC of Morocco. We are ok with the one goal we scored. We shouldn’t give up and we are going to qualify over there.”
Saturday’s clash offers Hearts an opportunity to make it to the Group stage for the first time since 2006.
Meanwhile, Samuel Boadu has apologised profusely for picking up a needless yellow card during the game.
He was booked after a confrontation with Angolan referee Helder Martins Rodrigues De Carvalho.
His actions on the touchline due to what he termed as ‘intimidation’ resulted in the yellow card.
He said, “I have learnt a lot from the yellow card I received today so things will change going forward.”
