Ghanaian songstress, Wendy Shay, has taken home the Best Female Artiste in Western Africa award at the 2025 All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) for her hit song “Too Late”.

Wendy Shay beat tough competition from notable artistes like Tiwa Savage, Moliy, Ayra Star, and Amaarae, among others. The award is a testament to her hard work and talent.

In her acceptance speech, she expressed gratitude to her fans, team, and the organisers, acknowledging the challenges including bullying, while inspiring and encouraging upcoming artistes, especially women, to stay focused and persevere in the industry.

She also delivered a mesmerising performance at the awards night.

Wendy Shay’s music career has been on the rise since her debut single “Uber Driver” in 2018. She’s known for her dynamic performances and chart-topping releases, and has solidified her position as one of Ghana’s leading female artistes. She’s also been recognised for her influence and consistency in the West African music scene.
