WESTRAFO Ghana Limited, manufacturers and suppliers of various transformers that meet European standards, has introduced fire resistant transformers onto the Ghanaian market.
David Darkwa, Managing Director of Westrafo Ghana, disclosed this at the company’s 3rd global engagement with 50 electrical engineers held at the Engineer House at Roman Ridge, Accra lately.
The participants included representatives from the Energy Ministry, Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), GriDco and Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCO).
The MD explained that the high quality transformers have special fluid to prevent fire outbreak.
According to him, the company, which is an electro-mechanical engineering firm, is in collaboration with its parent company to manufacture products which meet the needs of customers.
“Our products are compliant with the highest European quality levels and we are not going to compromise this value, as our engineering and testing department is directly controlled by the headquarters in Italy,” he remarked.
He indicated that his company is the only institution established in Ghana in 2014 to manufacture and distribute high-performing transformers and accessories in the West Africa sub-region.
A participant, who represented the ECG, said that the engagement would give them in-depth understanding of best practices in maintaining transformers.
