Wisa Greid
An Accra Circuit Court has set April 25, 2018 to deliver judgement in a case in which hiplife artiste Eugene Ashe, aka Wisa Greid, has been accused of displaying his penis while performing on stage at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
This was after the prosecution and the defence team had concluded their case.
The artiste called a witness who corroborated his story that he showed a fake penis on stage instead of his manhood.
At a previous sitting, Wisa told the court that he decided to do something on stage that his fans would remember forever and rise to stardom owing to the fact that he was a new artiste performing at a major show.
He tendered the fake penis to the court, saying he shared the plan with a member of his management team who was backstage.
The prosecution, led by Inspector Judith B. Asante, disagreed with the defence, saying it is an afterthought to throw dust in the eyes of the court.
Appearing before the court yesterday, Sylvanus Mawuli Ahiagble, Wisa’s road manager at the time, who was in knowledge of the plan, told the court that the whole fake penis display was a stunt by the artiste to promote his image.
He confirmed that he planned with Wisa to do that on stage.
Asked during cross-examination if he would be surprised to hear that Wisa Greid told the police he actually displayed his real penis, the witness answered in the affirmative.
The court, presided over by Mrs Abena Oppong Adjin-Doku, asked Jerry Avenorgbor, Wisa’s lawyer, to submit his address by April 10, 2018 to the court which would give its verdict on April 20, 2018.
The ‘Ekiki Mi’ hit singer is standing trial for allegedly showing his manhood on December 24, 2015 during the ‘Decemba 2 Rememba’ event at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
A video of the artiste was put on social media which compelled his management to apologise for his “rash and irresponsible behaviour.”
