The deceased
Residents of Bokruwaa, a quiet farming community near Sabronum in the Ahafo Ano South East District of the Ashanti Region are reeling in shock after a 40-year-old mother of six was found shot dead in her bedroom at dawn on Thursday, August 7, 2025.
The victim, whose name was not readily known by this paper, was discovered by her children around 6 a.m. lying motionless in a pool of blood with a gunshot wound on her head.
According to the deceased’s brother, Emmanuel Kyei, the children became alarmed when their mother, known for rising early, failed to leave her bed at her usual time. Upon entering her room, they were met with the grisly scene.
“She was alone in the room because her husband had travelled. Her phone was still on the pillow beside her, and nothing seemed to have been taken,” Mr. Kyei told DAILY GUIDE.
The incident has thrown the community into mourning, as neighbours and relatives struggle to make sense of the tragedy. Residents say the woman was well-known and respected in the area, and they are shocked that such violence could occur in their midst.
Police at Sabronum have begun investigations into the incident. No arrests had been made as of press time, and the body was yet to be conveyed to the morgue.
Meanwhile, family members are calling on the authorities to expedite investigations and bring the perpetrator to justice.
