Bernard Antwi Boasiako aka Chairman Wontumi with Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia
Chairman of the Ashanti Region branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako aka Chairman Wontumi, has explained his absence from the campaign of former Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in the region.
This, he said, has been necessitated by the ongoing court appearances. In a correspondence, he said that he has however given instructions to party structures in the region to support the programme.
“As I attend to my court obligations, I will not be able to be physically present on this important campaign tour. Yet my heart, my spirit and my full political strength remain firmly and unshakably behind Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
“I have given clear instructions to all party structures across the Ashanti Region – from regional and constituency executives to polling station officers and foot soldiers – to fully mobilise, receive and support him with unity, discipline and massive presence.”
This moment, he said, “is bigger than any individual and greater than any temporary challenge. It is about the future of Ghana, the hope of our people and continuity of progress we have worked so hard to protect.”
Continuing, he said that “I place my trust in the loyalty and resilience of our grassroots.
“With faith in God, confidence in our cause, and belief in our people, we shall overcome every obstacle,” he said.
