Bernard Antwi Boasiako and Kennedy Agyapong
The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, following his release from the custody of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has paid a visit to Kennedy Agyapong to express his gratitude to him.
Chairman Wontumi, who was accompanied by some leaders of the party, thanked Kennedy Agyapong, who offered his support to him while in EOCO custody for seven days.
He also thanked supporters of the party, particularly the grassroots, for their support during those trying moments.
Wontumi, last week, also visited the flagbearer of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, at his private office in Accra, as well as the former Minister for Food and Agriculture, Dr. Bryan Acheampong.
The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the party was released from EOCO custody after successfully meeting his bail conditions on Monday, June 2.
He was granted a bail of GH¢50 million with two sureties to be justified, in connection with ongoing investigations.
Chairman Wontumi was arrested by EOCO on Tuesday, May 27, over allegations of fraud, money laundering, and causing financial loss to the state.
