YOLO Actor Relies On Machine To Breathe

John Peasah

Actor John Peasah, best known for his role as Drogba in the popular television series YOLO, has revealed that he is now dependent on a breathing machine due to a recent diagnosis of sleep apnea.

The actor, who has been battling several severe health issues, shared this update with his fans and the public through an emotional post on social media.

On Friday, August 9, Drogba took to Instagram to explain his condition, writing, “Sleep apnea is a sleep disorder that occurs when a person’s breathing is interrupted during sleep.

“It can cause a person to stop breathing for short periods, which can occur multiple times throughout the night. This can lead to poor sleep quality, fatigue, and other health problems.”

To manage this condition, Drogba now uses a Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) machine, which ensures his airways remain open during sleep, allowing him to receive the necessary oxygen.

The diagnosis of sleep apnea adds to the actor’s ongoing health challenges, including demyelination, a neurological disorder he was diagnosed with a few months ago.

Drogba, who has been undergoing treatment for some time, is now preparing for Intravenous Immunoglobulin (IVIG) therapy, a specialised and expensive treatment.

The financial strain of managing these medical conditions has led him to appeal to the public for support.

He shared details for donations, asking well-wishers to contribute through Access Bank or mobile money to help cover the costs of his ongoing treatment.

Despite the hardships he faces, including the toll on his physical and financial wellbeing, Drogba remains resolute in his determination to fight these health battles. As Drogba continues to seek treatment, including plans to continue care abroad, he remains hopeful and appreciative of the support from his fans and the public.
