Thousands of customers and staff participated in the walk
Zenith Bank Ghana has celebrated its 20th anniversary with a massive health walk that brought together a large number of customers and staff.
The anniversary was held under the theme “20 Years of Impact, A Lifetime of Shared Growth.”
Speaking at the event, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Zenith Bank Ghana, Henry Onwuzurigbo, said the health walk was a symbolic gesture representing the bank’s journey to build a financial institution that stands tall in Ghana and across Africa.
He noted, “This year’s Health Walk is particularly special and meaningful to us. It is a symbolic gesture representing the journey we have taken together over the past 20 years to build a financial institution that stands tall in Ghana and commands respect across Africa and the globe.”
Mr. Onwuzurigbo expressed excitement as he reflected on two decades of the bank’s operations in Ghana, describing the milestone as a new beginning for the company.

The Managing Director also addressed the perception that banks do not support businesses, explaining that many customers are often unaware of the types of assistance available to them based on the nature of their enterprises.
He emphasised that the bank’s relationship officers are available to guide clients through the offers and products best suited to their business needs.
“We have relationship officers who will sit you down, look at what your business is about, and identify the products we can use to support you,” he explained.
Mr. Onwuzurigbo added that Zenith Bank is partnering with retailers, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and fintech companies licensed by the Bank of Ghana to help those sectors grow.
“For retailers and SMEs, we are partnering with many fintechs that have the requisite licence from the Bank of Ghana. We are working with them to reach areas that traditional banks could not easily access,” he stated.
He emphasised that challenges such as exchange rates, economic issues, regulatory issues affect the banking sector.
