Zylofon Media Launches Creative Arts Fund

Zylofon Media launched a one-million dollar fund for Ghana’s creative arts industry on Friday; a move which is receiving applauds from stakeholders.

The fund is dubbed ‘Zylofon Arts Fund’, and it is aimed at providing financial support for the creative industry. Persons who will be accessing the fund won’t pay back with an interest.

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) at Zylofon Media, Samuel Baah, explained that the fund forms part of the Zylofon Media mission to enhance growth in the country’s entertainment industry.

“Zylofon Arts Fund is a fund that is going to support the creative arts industry from all disciplines. From dancers, movie and music producers, artistes to whoever plays a critical role in the creative arts industry stand a chance of accessing this fund,” he said.

“To us at Zylofon Media, we see this as a lifetime investment which would be developed into a creative arts bank. But for now, it’s just a lifetime fund which will benefit the creative people,” he added.

Creative arts stakeholders have always maintained that lack of funding for its industry is one of the reasons; it is not able to compete with other thriving industries. Governments over the years have not been able to provide that support.”

Zylofon Media is being commended for the move, even though some persons argued it is risky to give money in industry where systems and structures don’t work.

Stakeholders who want to access the fund have been asked to submit a proposal to Zylofon front desk for their proposals to be examined and endorsed by a five-member board.
