Amakye Dede Weeps In Cemetery

Highlife music legend, Amakye Dede, could not hold his tears back as he wept uncontrollably when he visited the grave of his late manager and friend, Isaac Yeboah to mark a year after the demise of the later.

Amakye Dede accompanied by family of Isaac Yeboah and close friends laid a wreath at Isaac Yeboah’s grave in Elimina in the Central Region and also said prayers for the soul of the deceased.

The brief and solemn ceremony brought back memories of the sad event which took away Isaac’s life a year ago.

A year ago, Amakye Dede with two of his band members got involved in a bloody motor accident that killed his manager, Isaac Yeboah.

The accident happened a few minutes after 1am on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at the Paradise Resort at Nsutam on the Accra-Kumasi road where Amakye and his band had gone to perform at a concert named  ‘Paradise Xmas Fiesta With The Stars’.

Isaac and Prince Mensah, Amakye’s bodyguard, were reportedly standing by their car which was parked by the roadside, while Amakye was changing his clothes, when a Sprinter 207 from Kumasi heading towards Accra suddenly rammed into their car due to brake failure, killing Isaac on the spot.

“I have lost my best friend, my brother and my manager Isaac and it will be very difficult to get a replacement for Isaac. It will be very difficult to get a friend or a manager like Isaac but God knows best,” Abrantie told Peace FM’s Kokrokoo morning show while he was still on admission at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra in what became his very first interview after the accident.
