GIS Holds Time Conference

The Ghana International School (GIS) has held its annual TIME Conference that provides educators with the opportunity to share and learn best practices that will lead to efficiency and improve the performance of students.

The conference, the second to be organized after the success of the maiden event last year, was themed, “Inclusion – Empowering All Students.”

The day’s event brought together educators in GIS and other international schools, who have been trained both locally and internationally, to serve as resource persons to make presentations at seminars and workshops on various topics, including learning best practices.

Principal of GIS, Dr Mary Ashun, in her welcome address said, “The time has indeed come for us to reflect on our practice, learn from each other and go back to our home school transformed. It’s is time we acknowledge how worthy our profession is, how necessary and how indispensable the teaching profession is to the growth of the nation.”

Kwabena B. Tandoh, Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Gate Consultancy, now (Tandoh & Associates), who gave a lecture on the topic; Leveraging Universal Design for Improved Student Outcomes, explained that “as teachers, we must also have positive expectations of all our students and support them to achieve.

Educators must continue to be encouraged to appreciate diversity among all learners and remove barriers, Mr Tandoh stated.
