A young lady has reportedly been murdered at Kasoa Amanfrom in the Central Region, with the head cut off and the heart removed.

The mortal remains of the yet-to-be-identified lady were discovered in a white fertilizer sack and dumped at Quarters Junction last Saturday dawn.

Eyewitness account indicates that the attention of residents was drawn to the sack when they saw blood oozing from it.

Residents claimed they initially thought it was an animal that had been killed and put in the sack, but carefully examining how the sack had been tied with wire rope, they suspected it to be that of a human being and reported it to the Amanfrom police.

The police later indicated that upon examination, it was established that the content of the sack was a human being and not an animal.

The Accra Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Efia Tenge, confirmed to DAILY GUIDE that when the sack was picked up by the police that Saturday morning, it was taken to the Police Hospital morgue for pathologist to open it and identify the content.

It was at the hospital that the pathologist confirmed that it was a female of about 30 years old.

ASP Tenge confirmed that the head was off and the heart removed, leaving the other parts intact.

“The lady was wearing only panties and since the head has been cut off, it has become difficult identifying her,” she posited.

She said that a gentleman who was jogging that Saturday morning first discovered the sack lying at Quarters Junction, and upon seeing the blood coming out of the sack, hinted the Amanfrom police.

ASP Tenge said patrols had been intensified to apprehend those behind criminal activities in the area to face the full rigors of the law, and called on individuals to volunteer information that would help bring the perpetrators to book.

The body is still at the Police Hospital for preservation.

Amanfrom areas in recent times have recorded several criminal activities, and notable amongst them are murder, robbery and land guard atrocities.

Three weeks ago, a driver was stoned to death following a disagreement over a fare change.

A receptionist was also murdered at a guest house at Kasoa but the perpetrators managed to escape.

Two persons were also butchered to death by a gang of land guards, rendering the place unsafe.

The Accra Regional Police Command, in the wake of the land guards’ activities apprehended about 50 suspected persons to assist with investigation.
