A SUSPECTED Fulani highway robber named only as Moroo, is reported dead at St Mathias Hospital at Yeji in the Pru East District of the Brong-Ahafo Region.

That was after he and three other suspected robbers had allegedly blocked a road to rob traders and was reportedly attacked by community members.

Three of the community members who allegedly attacked the robbers also sustained severe machete wounds and have been admitted at the same hospital, but are said to be responding to treatment. They are Leponbin Nidah, 26; Wugikpor Tungah, 42 and Tibator Komboo, 50.

According to the police, on 23rd of this month at about 7:25 am, the assembly member for Choko Lumbo electoral area at Yeji, Emmanuel Ndomuo and his friend, Thomas Taatu, gave information that the robbers wielded machetes and other implements. He said when the community members heard of the road block, some youth mobilized themselves and went to the scene only to face fierce resistance by the robbers.

According to Mr Emmanuel Ndomuo, three of the robbers managed to escape but Moroo was overpowered and was about to be lynched but for his timely intervention.

Regional police spokesman, Chief Superintendent Kinsley Oppong, confirmed the incident to DAILY GUIDE and said Moroo’s body had been deposited at the morgue for autopsy.
