Abdul-Majeed Bawa
DAILY GUIDE SPORTS has gathered that Abdul-Majeed Bawa has been confirmed as the substantive Director General (DG) of the National Sports Authority (NSA).
Last week, a meeting of the NSA governing board unanimously decided that Bawa should be made the substantive head, after acting in that capacity for eight months.
A letter signed by the board chairman of the authority, Kwadwo Baah Agyemang noted that the board has observed with keen interest his performance as a Deputy Director General and after eight months in an acting capacity as Director General, the board has come to the conclusion that he distinguished himself and discharged his duties creditably.
The letter added that his confirmation was to ensure the peace of mind and the courage to take difficult but necessary decisions in the performance of his administrative functions to the benefit of the authority and sports in general.
He said in an interview that he will discharge his duties dispassionately and treat all sporting disciplines equally.
The new Director General expressed gratitude to the board for the confidence reposed in him and promised to put Ghana sports a notch higher.
