MMDAs Engaged On Draft National Monitoring and Evaluation Policy

To ensure the sustainability of government projects and value for money, the Ministry of Monitoring and Evaluation is engaging all Ministries, Agencies, and Departments across the country to produce a formidable policy to monitor and evaluate government projects.

According to the Deputy Minister for Monitoring and Evaluation, William Kwasi Sabi, there is a need for the policy and for a workable and formidable policy, there has to be deliberations for all involved to share their ideas on the subject.

He said, as a government that is not only interested in winning the next election but also in the good of the next generation, the Nana Addo led NPP government is burnt on ensuring value for money, and the quality of government projects.

The policy when implemented will appreciate reports from various MMDCEs on the progress of developments and projects in their jurisdiction and also ensure the attainment or international practices and standards.

The framework of the policy will accommodate all government interventions at various levels.

‘This will ensure that such interventions are monitored and evaluated at the district, regional and national levels,’the deputy minister said.

The Northern Regional Minister, Mr.Salifu Saeed urged the various MMDAs to pay attention to monitoring and evaluation at their levels.

He indicated that monitoring and Evaluation is a key in the daily activities of the assemblies.
