An immediate healthcare delivery has been provided for the thousands of traders and people that troop to the Kejetia Terminal to do business on a daily basis.

This follows the grand opening of a modern Kejetia Market Clinic which is a subsidiary of Anwiam Hospital located at Oforikrom in Kumasi.

Dr. Gabriel Boakye, the Chief Executive Officer of Anwiam Clinic, said his clinic sought to provide quality healthcare at a cheap price to the huge number of people that visit Kejetia on a daily basis.

He said he was aware a lot of vulnerable people like head porters and truck pushers operate at Kejetia and his clinic would readily make healthcare accessible to them.

According to him, plans are far advanced for the creation of a fund to support vulnerable patients who will visit the clinic without National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) card.

Dr. Boakye passionately appealed to the well-to-do in society to contribute to the fund, adding that his clinic had introduced a system to provide quick services.

“We have operationalized a reliable and results-oriented software named ‘HEALTHMASTER’ and it is aimed at expediting quick healthcare delivery to our patients. This system is a paperless and folderless application to ensure swift and efficient services are provided. We will also do medical outreach events,” Dr. Boakye disclosed.

The Kumasi Mayor, Osei Assibey Antwi, said “Kejetia boasts of 8,420 shops which attract a sizeable number of people to the place, so it is good we have a modern clinic here.”

He admonished the petty traders, truck pushers and head porters to register with the NHIA so that they could easily access the professional clinical services at the Kejetia Clinic.
