First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo, has called on the people of Ningo Prampram to vote for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the December elections.
Drawing from the fact that the NPP has not won that seat in its parliamentary elections for the past 28 years, the First Lady urged the electorates to change the trend which has stifled development in the area.
She said voting for the NPP parliamentary candidate for Ningo Prampram Constituency, Alexander Martey, will fasttrack developmental projects in the constituency.
Mrs. Akufo-Addo made the call when she visited and interacted with residents of Ningo Prampram in the Greater Accra Region to canvass for votes for President Akufo-Addo and the NPP parliamentary candidate in the December 7 polls.
As part of her visit, the First Lady met party supporters in Dawhenya and Ahwiam in the constituency and introduced the NPP Parliamentary candidate to the people.
The First Lady said although the NPP has never won the Ningo Prampram parliamentary seat since the inception of the fourth republic, significant projects executed in the constituency, happened under NPP governments.
She said under the government of President Kufuor, the constituency was provided with a police station and police quarters with water supply extended from Sege to Prampram.
Mrs Akufo-Addi also indicated that the Akufo-Addo led NPP administration, has not left out Ningo Prampram from its projects.
The constituency she said, has benefitted from the 1 District 1 Factory (1D1F) initiative which has seen three factories being constructed in the constituency, the construction of the largest greenhouse in West Africa a new market, extended electricity and construction of storm drains.
The First Lady also paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Dawa and his elders at his palace and thanked them for all their prayers and support for the Akufo-Addo government.
She also prayed for their support as the NPP seeks another four-year term in office to do more for the people of Ghana.
The Chief of Dawa, Nene Tettehwayo Duamor XI commended the administration of President Akufo-Addo saying they can attest to the developmental projects going on all over the country.
He said the Free SHS policy in particular has come to address a critical educational challenge in the constituency.
At a durbar held in lower Prampram, acting President of Ningo Traditional council and Chief of Ningo Nene Wakah Atiapa III, said the time has come for the people of Ningo-Prampram to select an NPP candidate as their parliamentarian.
Alexander Martey, the NPP parliamentary candidate for Ningo Prampram assured the people of more developments should he be elected as their next representative in Parliament.
He promised to work closely with the First Lady to bring into reality their request for fishing landing sites at Ahwiam.
