Following the dumping of two lifeless bodies in Ho (Volta Regional Capital) last week, the Police have commenced investigation to unravel the mystery around the bodies.
The two bodies were found on separate days around Voradep Village, a suburb of the Ho Municipality located in the south-eastern part of the Ho Technical University (HTU).
Announcing the investigation, DSP Efia Tenge, Public Affairs Officer of the Volta Regional Police Command recounted that on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, Police received information of a dead body lying around one of the hostels of HTU.
Police proceeded to the scene and found the deceased lying naked in a supine position with marks of assault on the body.
The deceased’s mobile phone and pair of slippers were also found. However, hud clothing could not be found at the scene.
The body of the deceased has since been identified as one Simon Amedi, aged 50, a mason, and a resident of Adaklu-Kodzobi.
Preliminary investigation suggests that he left his house at Kodzobi-Ando at about 3.00 am that day and was later found dead. The body has been deposited at the Ho Teaching Hospital morgue awaiting autopsy.
The Police again received another report on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at about 1.00 pm concerning another body found under a bridge along the Mirage-UHAS Road; less than a kilometer from the first body.
Police proceeded to the scene to find a decomposed body. They were accompanied by the Environmental Health Officials from the Ho Municipal Assembly.
Upon inspection, the body was found to be that of a male adult believed to be in his 30s. It was wrapped in a black polythene sheet tied with solution tape.
The body could not be identified as it was in an advanced stage of decomposition. It also gave off a putrid stench.
The deceased has since been buried after securing a coroner’s order from the court.
