Hundreds of House of Faith Ministries Worldwide members gathered for a service to honour the church’s founder, Rev. Alfred Nyamekye, and his wife, Rev. Dr. Esther Nyamekye, who both turned 70 in 2022.
The pair, who has been involved in God’s missionary work for over five decades, was treated to a sumptuous banquet, prior to the thanksgiving service, which saw worshippers dressed in all white.
They are generally regarded as forerunners of soul-winning and evangelistic work in Ghana, especially in the Ashanti Region, and a retired Baptist Minister, Rev. Dr. Steve Asante, described them as having complementary gifting.
The couple received numerous citations for their contributions to Christian ministry from different Christian groups and other religious organisations.
Rev. Dr. Isaac Quaye of the Word of Life Christian Church said the couple had lived godly lives and remained faithful to God.
He urged the congregation to follow in the footsteps of the Christian couple, while also encouraging Christian leaders to be disciplined in their work.
“Any Christian leader whose passion is anything other than soul winning is backsliding. Our mission is to lead people to Christ and nothing else, because God promises to provide the rest we may require in our work,” Rev. Quaye emphasized.
Various testimonies about their godly lifestyles were provided, with members of the Kumasi Ministers Fellowship describing Reverend Minister and his wife as a solid gift to the body of Christ.
Rev. Kingsley Appiagyei, a Baptist Minister in the United Kingdom, stated that no one would skip his path in life if they followed Christ Jesus as the couple had.
The Chief of Jachie, Baffour Kwaku Amoateng IV, described the House of Faith Founder and his wife’s lives as “inspiring.”
The Christian couple’s children characterized their father as a friend, counsellor, and inspiration.
They also praised their mother for being the best they could have received in life and remembered the godly principles she ingrained in them, including their fashion sense.
Rev. Alfred Nyamekyeh expressed gratitude to the different groups and organisations, as well as church members, for the honour.
He also thanked the leaders of the House of Faith Ministries for their dedication to the Lord’s work and for giving him the chance to lead them as General Overseer.
Despite reaching the age of 70 with his wife, the founder stated that their hearts were still set on missionary work and that they would labour to ensure that the Gospel reaches everyone the Lord sends their way.
“I have a message for all Christian leaders: don’t intimidate your members with ‘that says the Lord,’ but think through the vision with them, and if it is from God, time will vindicate you,” the Founder said.
