Justin Kodua Frimpong addressing journalists
GENERAL SECRETARY of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Justin Kodua Frimpong, has said he is devastated by the death of Philip Basoah, the late Kumawu MP.
Without mincing words, he described the deceased lawmaker as a workaholic, a team player and a staunch NPP member, whose death would certainly create a vacuum in the party.
“I’m very sad because our dear NPP has lost a true son, a workaholic and an unrepentant patriot in the late Hon. Philip Basoah,” the NPP Scribe lamented to journalists.
Justin Kodua Frimpong, nicknamed in the political circles as ‘JFK’, who was speaking when he visited Kumawu to commiserate with the bereaved family, said the MP’s death has come as a shock to the NPP family.
According to him, he last saw Philip Basoah some few days ago in Parliament, and the Kumawu MP didn’t show any sign that he would depart from earth soon. He said the entire NPP family was in great shock over the death of the lawmaker, urging the bereaved family to take heart in these difficult times, stressing that the party was behind the bereaved family.
The NPP Scribe also said the party has been informed that there were some issues in the constituency before the passing of the late MP, assuring that those issues would be resolved amicably.
He, therefore, appealed to NPP members, supporters and sympathisers in the constituency to unite as one family to help give a befitting burial and funeral for the late MP.
Commenting on the looming by-election in Kumawu, he said even though the party was mourning their late MP, they would still manage to properly strategise and win the Kumawu seat.
“This is a democratic political party and we shall use our laid down procedures to conduct an internal polls to select a suitable person to retain the seat for us,” he assured.
