Disability Centre Founder Honoured

Founder of the Centre for Disability Entrepreneurship and Public Policy (CDEPP), Andrew Nii Okaikoi, has been awarded the inaugural Legends Award for Human Rights and Impactful Leadership by the University of Ghana School of Law (UGSoL).

This prestigious recognition celebrates alumni who have made significant contributions to their fields and communities.

The UGSoL Legends Award spotlights individuals whose work have created a lasting impact. Mr. Okaikoiwas honoured for his relentless advocacy for equality and justice, emerging as a beacon of hope for marginalised groups, particularly persons with disabilities.

In a statement announcing the award, UGSoL praised Mr.Okaikoi’s tireless dedication to advancing the rights and dignity of individuals with disabilities, noting that his efforts have left an indelible mark on society.

“Through the Centre for Disability, Entrepreneurship, and Public Policy (CDEPP), your visionary leadership has created a transformative platform for inclusive advocacy, bridging gaps and breaking down barriers,” the statement read.

UGSoL further commended Mr. Okaikoi’s unwavering commitment to human rights, stating that he has inspired a generation of change-makers to advocate for equal opportunities and inclusive policies.

In response to receiving the award, Mr. Okaikoi expressed gratitude to UGSoL for recognising his years of hard work dedicated to ensuring equal treatment for persons with disabilities.

He pledged to continue empowering more individuals with disabilities to integrate into Ghanaian society.
