Empress Gifty and Nana Agradaa
Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, has stirred fresh controversy following a defeat in her ongoing defamation suit with gospel singer, Empress Gifty.
Appearing before the Tema High Court on June 26, 2025, for the second time, Agradaa was handed a GH¢6,000 fine by Justice P. Baffoe-Bonnie. The court also dismissed her attempt to halt proceedings through an injunction that sought to block Empress Gifty’s GH¢20 million defamation suit.
Unfazed by the setback, Agradaa took to social media to issue a defiant response. In a video posted shortly after the ruling, she challenged Empress Gifty to push for a formal injunction to bar her from speaking online — even going as far as to say she would abandon her ministry and “throw her Bible away” if such a move succeeded.
“You think an injunction will stop me? If you succeed in getting one to silence me online, I will throw away my Bible. You are joking,” Agradaa declared. “You insult me, but when I reply, you run to the court. I won’t be silenced.”
She continued by warning that her responses would continue unabated online, claiming her actions are reactions to provocations from the gospel artist. Agradaa also hinted at filing her own defamation suit, referencing alleged insults linked to political figure, Sammy Gyamfi.
The court battle between the two public figures, which began earlier this year, has captivated many on social media and in the gospel entertainment space, as the feud spills from digital platforms into the courtroom.
The case is set to resume at the Tema High Court on July 16, 2025.
