Ghana’s Esther Cobbah Takes Up IPRA Presidency

Ghanaian communication expert and Founder of Strategic Communications Africa Ltd (Stratcomm Africa), Ms. Esther A. N. Cobbah, has been inaugurated as the President of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), effective 2026.

The announcement was made during the 2025 IPRA Golden World Awards (GWA) Gala Dinner, held in Accra, an event that brought together leading communication professionals from around the globe to celebrate excellence in public relations.

The colourful ceremony also marked IPRA’s 70th Anniversary, with Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, serving as the special guest of honour.

She congratulated the association on its milestone and commended Ms. Cobbah on her historic appointment, describing it as a proud moment for Ghana and the African communication fraternity.

“Your leadership is an inspiration to many, and your commitment to ethical and impactful communication reflects the values we cherish as a nation,” the Vice President noted.

Public relations professionals, dignitaries, and IPRA members from several countries attended the event, which recognised outstanding PR campaigns across multiple categories.

In her remarks, outgoing IPRA President, Natasa Pavlovic Bujas, praised Ms. Cobbah’s exceptional contribution to the field, stating, “Esther Cobbah’s presidency reflects IPRA’s belief in global collaboration. We are confident that her leadership will inspire professionals around the world.”

Accepting her new role, Ms. Cobbah reaffirmed her dedication to promoting communication that advances peace, trust, and sustainable development.

“I look forward to working with the international community of public relations professionals to build bridges, promote understanding among people, and enhance human well-being,” she said.

“Together, we can demonstrate that communication rooted in integrity, empathy, and purpose has the power to transform our world,” she intimated.

Ms. Cobbah currently serves as President of the Institute of Public Relations (IPR) Ghana, and her new appointment at the helm of IPRA marks another milestone in a distinguished career dedicated to elevating professional communication standards both locally and globally.
