FMB Farms Boss Calls For Ginger Investment

Michael Amponsah Frimpong

The Managing Director of FMB Farms, Michael Amponsah Frimpong, has called on government to invest massively in agriculture in the Atwima Kwanwoma District in the Ashanti Region, with particular emphasis on ginger production as a key driver of economic growth.

According to him, the district has the capacity to contribute significantly to the nation’s economy if the agricultural sector is given the needed attention, stressing that such growth can be achieved without excessive reliance on foreign support.

Mr. Frimpong noted that ginger cultivation has the potential to create employment opportunities, boost incomes and improve the livelihoods of people in the district.

He explained that the agricultural value chain is broad and, when fully developed, can serve as an engine of growth for Atwima Kwanwoma District and the country at large.

He therefore urged government and other stakeholders to prioritise investment in farming, processing and marketing in order to fully harness the benefits of the sector.

The FMB Farms boss also appealed to the District Assembly and residents to cultivate the habit of planting more trees to help beautify the environment and make communities safer and more conducive for living.

Touching on local development, he encouraged the District Chief Executive (DCE), Grace Agyemang Asamoah, to deepen collaboration with businesses operating within the district and to leverage their expertise and resources to accelerate development.

Mr. Frimpong assured the DCE of his personal commitment to the development of Atwima Kwanwoma District and pledged to mobilise fellow business executives to support initiatives aimed at improving the district.

He further called on the government to urgently fix the poor road network in the district, noting that good roads are critical to attracting investors and enhancing economic activity.

He made these remarks when the DCE paid a working visit to FMB Farms at Adum-Nwamase as part of efforts to strengthen partnerships with key stakeholders in the district.
