Grace Agyemang Asamoah displaying the award
The District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Atwima Kwanwoma District, Grace Agyemang Asamoah, has received an international leadership award, marking the third recognition she has earned within ten months of assuming office.
Madam Agyemang Asamoah, affectionately called Obaatanpa, received the award in Kigali, Rwanda, during a colourful ceremony held at the M Hotel Kigali, where she was named “Most Outstanding Female Leader in Local Governance and Public Service Administration.”
The award was presented by the Business Executive Group during the third edition of the She Achievers Award, an international initiative that recognises women who have distinguished themselves through leadership, influence and dedication in governance, business and public service.
In her acceptance speech, Madam Agyemang Asamoah expressed gratitude to the organisers for recognising her commitment to public service.
She noted that leadership should not only be measured by institutional achievements but also by the number of lives positively impacted through service.
According to her, leadership must remain people-centred and focused on bringing meaningful development and transformation to communities.
She also encouraged women across Africa to remain determined in pursuing their ambitions regardless of their backgrounds.
“Women must continue to work hard and remain focused in whatever field they find themselves. One’s background should never limit the heights that can be achieved,” she said.
Madam Agyemang Asamoah commended the organisers for creating a platform that highlights the contributions of women making significant impact in governance and public administration.
She was accompanied to the ceremony by the District Coordinating Director of the Atwima Kwanwoma District Assembly, Alhaji Mohammed Shaibu, and other officials from the Assembly.
The DCE also expressed appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama, for the confidence reposed in her and for the opportunity to serve as District Chief Executive.
She reaffirmed her commitment to working closely with stakeholders and residents of the district to promote development and improve the living conditions of the people.
The recognition adds to her growing profile as a leader in local governance whose dedication to public service continues to gain national and international attention.
