Y’ello Ladies cutting a cake to mark the 1st anniversary
Y’ello Ladies Network, an all-female MTN Ghana employee group, designed to promote career development, mentorship, and leadership for women, have marked its first anniversary.
The group, launched on March 25, 2025, showcased its successes chalked over the past 12 months at an event held in Accra yesterday.
The achievement include a GH¢150,000 donate to the Breast Surgical Unit at Korle Bu to cover treatment costs (surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy) for 14 patients, and the donation of GH¢50,000 to Breast Care International to support public education and awareness programmes.
The funds were raised through contributions from MTN staff, partners, and stakeholders during October Breast Cancer Awareness month activities, which included a health walk.
Chair of the Yello Ladies Network at MTN Ghana, Antoinette Kwofie, expressed excitement about the organisation’s first year of existence, highlighting its growth into a vibrant and impactful community.

She further indicated that a steering committee was formed after the launch, comprising passionate representatives from various divisions to steer the affairs of the group.
“We knew the network would be meaningful, but what we could never have imagined is the impact it would have. The organisation looks forward to continued growth and contribution to Ghana’s people-centered culture and community initiatives,” she added.
MTN CEO, Stephen Blewett, emphasised the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace, saying, “You are strong women, our men are calm, and every one of you brings unique value and qualities that I admire in the way we run our business.”
Mr. Blewett highlighted the significant contributions of women in MTN’s leadership team and overall growth, stating, “If you look at the women in my office, you can clearly see how much I appreciate the contributions of the women to MTN’s growth.
