The engagement, led by Nkwanta Divisional Police Commander, ACP Michael Asiedu, took place on May 3, a day after Richmond Benye Ayitey, 25, died in Nkwanta on May 2.

During the discussions, the security team conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and the wider community. Officers urged the traditional leadership to maintain calm, discourage any acts of reprisal, and cooperate with ongoing investigations.

They assured the community that efforts are underway to identify and arrest the perpetrators.

Nana Ompa Ogagya I thanked the security agencies for their prompt intervention and pledged to lead sensitisation efforts to encourage the youth to uphold peace.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the St. Joseph Hospital morgue in Nkwanta for preservation and autopsy.

Officials said the joint engagement reflects a shared commitment between security agencies and community leaders to preserve peace and stability in Nkwanta. Investigations are ongoing, and the public has been urged to remain calm, cooperate with investigators, and support efforts to maintain order
