The Orthopedic Training Centre (OTC) in Nsawam Aboagyiri Eastern Region of Ghana has received donations worth thousands of cedis from businessman Emmanuel Abandoh, who also serves as CEO of Root-Roots Urban.
In addition Emmanuel Abandoh who is a philanthropist gave to the Haven of Hope Home for Children at Medie and Eye of The Lord Orphanage.
Some of the items donated to the three needy institutions include cooking oil, bags of sacks of rice and unspecified amounts of money.
Presenting the products, Emmanuel Abandoh said that his widow was using the donation to help the underprivileged people whose kin sometimes abandon them.
He continued by saying that the gifts meet his goal of providing society with the support it needs.
According to him, the donation forms part of his social responsibilities towards giving back to the society and the country as a whole.
“My intention for doing is to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable persons after 10 years as a broadcaster,” he said.
Emmanuel Abandoh pointed out that government alone could not support orphans, calling on all Ghanaians, particularly the well to do, to contribute generously towards the welfare of the marginalized in the society.
Emmanuel Abandoh, who has taken upon himself to give back to society, revealed plans of supporting needy but brilliant students in some selected school.
He stressed that benevolent organisations and individuals should help cushion the have-nots in these difficult times.
He urged those who have been blessed with wealth to extend a helping hand to the less-privileged in the society.
