Female radio and television personality and presenter on United Television (UTV), Abigail Ashley, thrilled music fans and guests with her stage craft when she co-hosted this year edition of the annual Heroes Night Excellence Awards in New York, USA.
The event is an award scheme created to acknowledge hardworking Ghanaians and Ghanaian associations excelling in any field of endeavour and their input back home.
The event attracted a number of personalities including Mr. Daniel Kingsley Atta Boafo, Consul General, New York.
A number of personalities were honoured in various categories like sports, entertainment, entrepreneurship, health, among others.
The female presenter rocked the stage alongside Vincent Jerry Ogee of New York-based Adinkra Multimedia, organisers of the event.
Abigail Ashley and Vincent Jerry Ogee kept the event moving and on time. With many years of experience emceeing events, the two gave invited guests the proper introduction, being careful to pronounce their names correctly.
They set the tone for the event, using humour where appropriate, but maintaining the dignity of the event as well.
The event which brought together the best of Ghana and international artistes on one platform to celebrate Ghanaian music with music fans, witnessed performance from Kwabena Kwabena who shared the stage with some selected acts and thrilled music fans and guests with back-to-back performances.
Other artistes who performed at the event include award-winning reggae singer Ras Kuuku, Prince Bright from BukBak fame, 2 Shy in NY among others.
At the event, Madam Hagan Bortey Ansah took home the Heroes Humanitarian Queen Award 2022 whilst Jennifer Cudjoe, the only Ghanaian female soccer player in the American League won the Young Achievers Award 2022. Kwahuman won the Most Vibrant Association in New York 2022.
Gold Coast Foundation grabbed 2022 Medical Practitioner of the Year award, Charles Kwame Asumeng – City Research Scientist at NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene was also honoured among others.
The CEO of the New York-based Adinkra Multimedia, Mr. Patrick Adofo (Djgem) said the award ceremony which served as a platform for networking and connecting with the leaders of the various industries is here to stay and looks forward to more years to come.
