Captain-Achimota Golf Club
The Accra Open golf competition, the capital’s biggest competition, teed off to a flying start at the Achimota Golf Club on Wednesday.
That has indeed raised the stakes for the finals on Sunday, where crack golfers from different categories as well pros would be rewarded for their efforts.
The Road to Recovery Edition of the tournament was preceded by the juniors event and a flag hoisting (Sponsors interaction and Set up day) on Wednesday which was followed up with the pros event on Thursday.
The cut-off for the pros is scheduled for today with the supporting group and seniors segment following. The pros are expected to finish tomorrow with a mammoth cash prize of GH¢10,000 up for grabs, while the prizes presentation takes place on Sunday.
Golfers from countries like United Kingdom, Nigeria, Gabon, Togo, Ivory Coast and our sister clubs all across Ghana are vying for honours in the competition.
The Accra Open golf tourney returns after close to five years absence, and it is being sponsored by Club Nineteen Jaguar/Landrover, Total Ghana, Obsidian Achernar, Martell, Go Slow, DSTv Business, Hollard Insurance, Labadi Beach Hotel and Ghandour Cosmetics.
