Acy China
Asi Dankwah, known in showbiz circles as Acy China, is the new host of Et? Ekyire Afa on Angel TV and Kumawood TV.
‘Et? Ekyire Afa’? which literally means to revisit issues, customs, and cultural practices? is aimed at impacting knowledge of previous practices of ethnic groups and traditions of the various tribes. It is also to encourage cultural activities whilst the host digs deep into outmoded and unacceptable practices frowned on the society with the view to further help expose them to the public in order to eradicate them.
Acy China has been groomed and endowed with the requisite knowledge in customs and traditions across the various tribes in Ghana and Africa.
Acy, who is also the main brain behind the show, revealed that she got the concept when she travelled to China. She believes China has developed because it does not toy with its tradition.
She, therefore, was inspired to use her media skills and experience to create a programme about the Ghanaian African tradition.
According to her, tradition is godly and accepted by God, but unfortunately, a section of Ghanaians and Africans have “relegated our tradition and make it look unacceptable by God.”
She added, “We need to look at how China is growing; I can tell you in confidence that the secret behind their growth is that apart from hard work they don’t joke with their tradition.”
The 20 episodes show features celebrities, great traditional and spiritual men within all sectors, who will inform viewers about customs and traditions across the various tribes in Ghana.
The show is aired on Angel TV and Kumawood TV on Thursdays at 8:30pm.
