The MCE addressing the journalist

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Adentan Municipal Assembly (AdMa), Alexander Nii-Noi Adumuah, has disclosed that plans are far advanced to initiate a number of programmes to create jobs for the residents in the municipality and beyond.

According to him, the municipality is endowed with a number of resources and key national research institutions, whose findings, can be used to create job opportunities for the people.

“We have very strong institutions such as the University of Ghana Farms, Animal Research Institute, Armahia Dairy Farm, Nungua Farms and Industrial Research Institute as resources to enrich our knowledge of agriculture and aquaculture, including livestock and mushroom production,” he disclosed.

The MCE said this during a media engagement to disclose his development agenda at the Grand Casamora Hotel located at Adjiringanor, East Legon, Accra over the weekend after he assumed office barely a month ago.

He stressed that his development agenda, dubbed “EASI-HR” covers six critical areas to create opportunities to improve the living standards of the people.

As part of EASI-HR, education and existing structures would be improved for both children and teachers to encourage people to segregate their waste and convert organic waste into manure.

Touching on agriculture, he mentioned that the assembly had saved more than 100 hectares of cereal farms that were affected by fall army worms, adding that backyard gardening in households would be encouraged.

He also announced plans to collaborate with adjoining municipalities (Shai-Osu Doku and La Nkwatanang Madina municipal assemblies) to upgrade the Pantang Hospital into a tertiary facility.

Mr. Adumuah, who was very passionate about his vision and mission for the assembly, called for unity among the staff.

The Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD), Moira Ewa, who commended the media for its role, called for stronger ties with all stakeholders to attain their targets.
