Controversial showbiz personality Afia Schwarzenegger has expressed disappointment in Ghana’s Blackstars following the team’s defeat to Morocco in Monday’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) opener.
According to her, she would no longer risk her hearty support for the team’s subsequent matches in the AFCON.
A late goal from ex-Southampton striker Sofiane Boufal saw Morocco triumph over Ghana in the first Group C clash of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon.
At the end of a scrappy match in which both teams produced nice midfield passing but often faltered with unforced errors, Ghanaians were left disappointed as the Blackstars could not secure a victory in the opening game.
In an Instagram video she shared after the match, Afia said she suffered heartaches as a result of the defeat.
She is therefore not risking further heartbreaks in the rest of Ghana matches.
“As for me, I am going through a lot of heartaches. My heart is broken. Never! I won’t give the rest of my heart to the Blackstars to further break it,” she stated.
Meanwhile, some Ghanaians are hopeful the Blackstars will come back hard to qualify to the next stage of the tournament.
