Agona Asamang Fetish Priest Abandoned His gods

Nana AKomeah Kofi Akomeah

Information available indicates that the gods at a shrine at Agona Asamang in the Ashanti Region of Ghana have been abandoned by fetish priest Nana AKomeah Kofi Akomeah, who succeeded his powerful uncle, the late Chief Fetish Priest Okomfo Nana Agyinam Barima.

Report says because the gods are powerful many devotees visit the shrine for cures of various alignments as well as for their spiritual needs.

According to the report, a few weeks after being appointed chief priest, Nana Akomeah, who also inherited his late uncle’s estate, including his 27 wives, closed up the shrine and departed for an unspecified place, according to the story.

The report further said, some family members and other idol worshipers grew upset because they couldn’t understand why the fetish priest would forsake his responsibilities to the idols at the shrine.

The report mentioned that Nana Akomeah, a self-described Christian, who claimed to have squandered years of his life worshiping a god he wasn’t even sure existed.

He is reported to have said, “I didn’t care for conventional religion. I didn’t want to serve as fetish priests or worship the gods.” This is the first of its kind because a fetish priest started such a brilliant move.

Nobody could have predicted that a fetish priest who has devoted his entire life to the worship of gods would abandoned his gods and turn to God.
