Agrobi Theatre Festival 2019 will be opened at Alliance Française in Accra, with a workshop by Dr. Ekua Ekumah, Head of the Department of Theatre Arts, University of Ghana, alongside a performance of “The Boor”, which is directed by Rita Richardson.
Friday, October 18, will be the turn of “Trans-Maitre”, a play in French directed by Elemawusi Agbedjidji, which addresses the question of heritage; and “Tell”, an experimental play on sexual abuse and domestic violence directed by Abena Danso Dansoa.
Directed by Dr. Aristedes Hargoe, “Ajenuloo”, a dance drama that takes on the issue of creativity and wit among others would be performed on Saturday, October 19, alongside “Chaskele”, a devised performance on the Sustainable Development Goals by Solomon Dartey.
“Chains and Shackles”, a historical play directed by Woelinam Dziewornu-Norvor, would be performed on Friday, October 25, while “Karoo Moose”, a story on an encounter with a moose by a child directed by Dr. Ekua Ekumah and Dr. Sarah Dorgbadzi, would be presented on Saturday, October 26, together with “African Man” directed by Akosua Hanson.
Agrobi Theatre Festival is aimed at bringing together theatre lovers and stakeholders in the arts industry to experience theater from professional and student groups.
